What is Vitiligo?

It is a common acquired skin disease characterized by severe circumscribed, discolored spots.

This is a pigmentation disorder in which melanocytes are destroyed.

What is affected by the Leucoderma?

It affects equally the male and female population of the planet, regardless of skin phototype or race and can people of all ages. The Leucoderma has been shown to be common in people with other autoimmune diseases such as thyroid dysfunction, diabetes mellitus, alopecia areata, megaloblastic anemia, etc.

Skin color is determined by the absorption of radiation of sunlight on skin color:

a) Melanin (skin)

b) Hemoglobin (blood vessels)

c) Bacterium (subcutaneous tissue)

The vitiligo is a consequence of the absence of melanin.

Melanin is the substance that gives color to skin, hair and eyes and is produced by melanocytes in the epidermis.

Natural Treatment for Vitiligo

A skin ailment is called vitiligo. This is a skin disorder in which the Melanin pigmentation of the skin, called, is lost. Melanin provides for the color of our skin, eyes and hair. When melanin is not produced by your skin cells, white spots begin to appear on your skin. Vitiligo Symptoms usually appear first as white spots in the small areas of skin. This may eventually spread and become larger over time.

Vitiligo affects 1-2% of the population and affects men and women of all races. Vitiligo can begin at any age although about fifty percent of people who have vitiligo, which is being developed him before they turned 25th Vitiligo is more visible, people with darker skin color because the contrast between normal skin and the depigmentation visible.

Neem is very effective in treating leucoderma. Try to drink a glass of Neem juice everyday. A very beneficial home remedy for leucoderma.

Turmeric mixed with mustard oil has also proved useful in leucoderma. About 500 gm of turmeric should be pounded and soaked in 8 liters of water at night. It should be boiled in the morning till only one litre of water is left, and then be strained and mixed with 500 ml of mustard oil. This mixture should be heated till only the oil is left. It should then be strained and preserved in a bottle. The mixture should be applied on the white patches every morning and evening for a few months. A very beneficial home remedy for leucoderma.
