A tip to control drowsiness while studying

Dried dates are chopped into small pieces .Chewing on one or two pieces and gulping down a little milk after,  will keep drowsiness in check while studying. This also works well for students who suffer from headaches while studying. 3-4 dates can be eaten in a day. Excess amounts are not recommended.

Mudras for healing - part - 19 - Pushana mudra

Pushan mudra - image is under copyright
The tips of the thumb,index and the middle finger are brought together in the right hand.
The tips of the thumb,middle finger and ring finger are brought together in the left hand.
This mudra can be practiced for 5 minutes and up to three times a day.
Benefits of this mudra:
This takes care of the proper digestion and assimilation of the food.
It aids in proper breathing  and so it has a remarkable effect on the nervous system.
It is good for nausea , sea sickness and improper digestion.

A slightly different version of Pushan mudra for memory and concentration:
The tips of the thumb,the ring finger and the little finger are brought together only for the right hand .Do refer prana mudra for the right hand:

A simple recipe to rectify all the Doshas

This simple Trifala recipe is given by Elchuri in the name of  "Sadananda Lehyam" to prevent most diseases.This rectifies the 3 doshas , generally boosts  immunity and also gives immense strength to the body.

Mix

  • Triphala 
  • Ghee,
  • Honey
  • Mishri 


in equal quantities and store in a clean dry glass jar.This lehyam has a very long shelf life.
1 spoon of this lehyam is taken with a glass of milk in the night.After a month  half a spoon may be taken even in the mornings.

Bala Bhaskara Lehyam for improving eyesight in children in Ayurveda

This medicinal paste recipe is as told by Pandita Elchuri.

The ingredients needed are available in all Ayurvedic stores.

Method:
Mix:


  • Amla Churna  The powder of dried amla fruits.--Gooseberries in English-Nellikai in Tamil ,Usirikaya in Telugu

-  (Emblica officinalis)  --30 gm


  • Bibitaki  Churnam :  The powder of dried churnam of the fruits  .(Terminalia bellirica)  Tanikaya in Telugu.   -20 gm



  • Haritaki churnam  : 10 gm  Terminalia chebula  :Karakkaya in Telugu.


(The three fruits Haritaki,Vibitaki and Amalaki are mixed in defferent proportions to make the very useful Triphala churna.)


  • Athimadhuram *(glycyrrhiza glabra ) churna :6 gm



  • Pipallu-pipli  - Java pepper -long pepper *--6 gm



  • Mishri --Rock candy sugar  : 120 gm.



  • Cow's ghee--20 gm



  • Coarse salt powder : -6 gm
These 8 powders are mixed well and they are pounded along with honey till a desired consistency is reached.The lehyam must be thick and rollable.
This is stored in a clean dry glass jar.

Dosage:

Children--1-2 gm once or twice a day.One should not eat or drink anything for an hour after taking this lehyam.

Adults: 5 gm once a day and nothing to eat or drink for an hour.

This is excellent for improving eyesight in children  and adults.This will restore the eyesight and there will be no need for spectacles .

A simple tip for students to remain awake...

This is a simple tip as described by Pujya Asaramji Bapu to avoid drowsiness when we need to remain awake.

Fold a Betel leaf with two cloves *  inside it and chew well. This will keep the person awake.
